Membership and meetings

Everyone is welcome

Meetings are normally held on the second Monday of each month from 7:30–9:30 PM. Doors open at 7:15 PM and refreshments are provided.

Annual membership

Come to a meeting, meet local beekeepers and sign up. Membership includes voting privileges.

$20per person

About the association

Practical support for bees and beekeepers

We help strengthen local bee populations and the beekeeping community through education, communication and shared experience.

  • Monthly meetings with practical, seasonal topics

Honey bee swarm help

The bees are looking for a new home

A swarm can look alarming, but resting honey bees are usually calm while scouts search for a suitable home.

  1. Keep calm, move slowly and keep children and pets back.
  2. Take a clear picture of the cluster from a safe distance.
  3. Note the exact location and approximate height.
  4. Email the details to the association. hnbees@yahoo.com
Honey bees only: Our volunteers do not remove wasps, hornets or bumble bees.

Learn beekeeping

The association offers informal learning, apiary experiences and educational presentations.
The Ontario Beekeepers’ Association also provides approved courses.
